4G & 5G business broadband

Business mobile broadband. Online in days, not weeks.

4G and 5G routers and data SIMs that get a site online without waiting for a fixed line. For new premises, temporary sites, backup, and anywhere a cable cannot reach.

What it is

Broadband over the mobile network.

A business 4G or 5G router with a data SIM gives the whole site an internet connection using the mobile network, rather than a phone line or fibre.

Everyone connects to it over Wi-Fi or a cable, just like normal broadband. Where 5G is strong, speeds can rival fixed broadband. Where signal is weaker, an external antenna or a multi-network SIM makes a real difference.

New premises

Trade from day one while the fixed line is still being ordered and installed.

Temporary sites

Construction sites, site cabins, events and pop-up shops.

Backup for your main line

Takes over automatically when the fixed line drops.

Hard-to-reach places

Rural sites and units where building a fixed line would be slow or costly.

Compare

4G, 5G and when fixed broadband wins.

Mobile broadband is fast to deploy and very flexible. For a permanent, busy office, a fixed broadband line is usually still the better long-term choice.

What we supply

Everything you need, set up and supported.

Data SIMs

Data-only SIMs for routers, tablets and laptops, with data pooled across the business.

IoT and data SIMs

4G and 5G routers

Business routers supplied ready configured, so you plug in and go.

External antennas

For sites where the signal inside is weak but strong outside.

Failover routers

A fixed line as your main connection, with automatic 4G or 5G backup.

Temporary and pop-up sites

Connectivity that moves with you.

Construction sites, site cabins, events and pop-up shops need connectivity quickly, and only for a while. A mobile broadband router can go live as soon as it arrives and move with you to the next site.

In the meantime it covers card machines, laptops, phones and CCTV, with no fixed line to install or cancel.

Is it right for you?

When mobile broadband fits, and when it does not.

A good fit

Mobile broadband suits you if

  • You need to be online quickly
  • The site is temporary or moves
  • You want a backup for your main line
  • A fixed line is unavailable or costly to build
Look elsewhere

Consider something else if

  • You need guaranteed speeds and an SLA
  • You upload large files all day
  • Signal at the site is very weak
  • A large team works there permanently

Common questions

Mobile broadband, answered.

It depends on the signal where the router sits. Where 5G is strong, speeds can reach hundreds of Mbps. Where it is weaker, speeds are lower, which is why we check coverage at your site first.

For temporary sites, new premises and backup, very much so. For a permanent, busy office, a fixed line is usually more consistent, and many businesses use both, with mobile as the automatic backup.

It depends on what runs over it. Card machines and email use little; video calls and cloud backups use a lot. We size the plan to your usage and can pool data across SIMs.

Yes. A failover router uses your fixed line normally and switches to 4G or 5G automatically if it drops, then switches back when it returns.

We check coverage for your site before recommending anything. Where signal is weak indoors, an external antenna or a multi-network SIM usually solves it.

Yes. That is one of its biggest advantages. Subject to coverage at the new location, the router simply goes with you.

Vodafone, O2 or EE, whichever is strongest at your site. For sites where no single network is reliable, a multi-network SIM uses the best available.

Yes. Mobile broadband is the right call when you need to be online quickly, where no cable reaches, or as a backup. If you are staying put and a fixed line can be installed in a sensible timescale, that is normally the better long term answer and we will say so.

Tell us first, because most things are quicker to sort directly and we would rather fix a problem than escalate it. If we genuinely cannot settle it between us, Synergy Max is a member of CISAS, the Communication and Internet Services Adjudication Scheme, which is run by CEDR and approved by Ofcom. Following Ofcom’s rule change in April 2026 you can take a complaint there once it has been open for six weeks, or sooner if we write to confirm we have reached deadlock. It is free for you to use and the outcome is binding on us if you accept it. Our complaints code sets out the whole process.
