Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Synergy Max Ltd is committed to conducting business fairly, honestly and transparently. We take a zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption and are committed to acting professionally and with integrity in all our business dealings, wherever we operate. This policy sets out our responsibilities, and the responsibilities of those working for and with us, in observing and upholding that position.

1. Our commitment

Bribery and corruption are punishable by significant penalties under the Bribery Act 2010 and can cause serious harm to our reputation and to the businesses we serve. We are committed to complying with the Bribery Act 2010 and all other anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws that apply to us, and to preventing bribery and corruption in connection with our business.

2. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to all directors, employees, contractors, agents and anyone else who performs services for or on behalf of Synergy Max Ltd, at all levels and in all locations. We also expect our suppliers, partners and other third parties to adopt equivalent standards.

3. What we mean by bribery

A bribe is an inducement or reward offered, promised, given, requested or accepted in order to gain a commercial, contractual, regulatory or personal advantage, or to influence someone to act improperly. This applies whether the bribe is offered directly or through a third party, and whether it is offered to or received from anyone, including customers, suppliers or public officials.

4. What is prohibited

It is not acceptable for anyone acting for or on behalf of Synergy Max Ltd to give, promise, offer, request, agree to receive or accept a bribe, or to encourage or assist anyone else to do so. This includes rewarding the improper performance of a function or activity, or making a payment to secure or speed up a routine action to which we are already entitled.

5. Gifts and hospitality

This policy does not prohibit normal and appropriate business hospitality, or the giving and receiving of modest gifts, provided they are reasonable and proportionate, given openly and not with the intention of improperly influencing a decision or securing an advantage. Cash or cash-equivalent gifts must never be given or accepted. If you are ever unsure whether a gift or hospitality is appropriate, you should decline it and seek guidance.

6. Facilitation payments and kickbacks

We do not make, and will not accept, facilitation payments (small unofficial payments made to secure or speed up a routine action) or kickbacks of any kind. If you are asked to make such a payment, you should refuse and report it.

7. Donations

We do not make political donations. Any charitable donations we make are legal and ethical, and are never made as a way of obtaining a business advantage.

8. Your responsibilities

Everyone who works for or with us is responsible for reading, understanding and complying with this policy, and for avoiding any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of it. If you have any reason to believe that a breach has occurred or may occur, you must report it as soon as possible.

9. Raising a concern

We encourage everyone to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of bribery or corruption at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be raised in confidence by emailing support@synergymax.co.uk or by calling 0151 230 3949. No one will suffer any detrimental treatment for refusing to take part in bribery or corruption, or for reporting a genuine concern in good faith.

10. Consequences of a breach

Any breach of this policy is treated seriously and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal, and the termination of a contract or supplier relationship. Bribery and corruption are also criminal offences that can result in prosecution.

11. Review

This policy is approved by the directors of Synergy Max Ltd and is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains effective and up to date. It was last reviewed on the date shown above.
